Have you ever seen a trailer to an R rated movie that you would like to see? If you were 13 years old, you could not see that movie. Many people think you should not let teens over 13 see R rated movies, but I think that teens over 13 years old should be able to view R rated movies. You should let teens over 13 years old see R rated movies because they are almost adults. Also, movie theaters will make more money. The more money movie theaters make, the nicer movie theaters could look. Finally, R rated movies may make teens over 13 years old have a stronger bond with their parents or adult relatives. Those are the three reasons I think that teens over 13 years of age should be able to view an R rated movie.
One of the reasons why teens over 13 should be able to view an R rated movie is because they are almost adults. I think teens over 13 should start having some adult privileges. Many people may think that they are too young, but I think that teen years are when kids start to grow-up: physically and mentally. I think the movies teens over 13 see should be more mature. There is too much drama in the teen movies, and I think that teens should start watching movies with less drama. They have to start watching movies that are more serious. Teen drama and adult drama movies are very different. Teen drama is not that serious while adult drama has more to do with the real world. I think as teens get over the age of 13 they should start being treated a little more like adults too. Having teens over 13 watching R rated movies isn’t just good for the teens but it’s also good for the movie theaters too.
Teens over 13 years should be able to watch an R rated movie not just because they are almost adults, but having teens over 13 watch R rated movies will benefit movie theaters too. By allowing teens over 13 to watch R rated movies, more people will be watching more movies. More movies being watched means more customers, and more customers mean more income. The benefit that movie theaters will have if teens over 13 were able to watch R rated movies is there will be more movies being viewed because there is a wider range of movies to see. I think movie theaters will gain more income, and they can start improving the movie theaters. They can put nicer seats inside, and they could have better food. Even after good movies come out people would still want to come to the movie theater because it is nice. Luxury on the inside can go a long way. Therefore, teens over 13 should be able to watch R rated movies because it helps movie theaters out. I think movie theaters also make people have stronger bonds.
Teens over should be able to watch R rated movies because they are almost adults, it will benefit movie theaters, and I think teens would be able to talk to the adults more often. As they are starting to grow into adults, teens start to separate themselves from their parents. A parent to child relationship is good to have. Maybe, if teens over 13 started to see R rated movies they could start talking to their parents or older relatives about the movie. I don’t think adults are too thrilled to talk about The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. I don’t think they would know what happens. I think that letting teens over 13 watch R rated movies will give them something to talk about with their parents or older relatives. Parents and older relatives would be happy to have something to talk about with their teen that is starting to grow independent.
There are many good movies out there that a lot of teens can’t see. If that changes there will be many benefits. For example, teens will have more movies to watch. Also, movie theaters will make more money, and hopefully improve themselves. Most importantly this may make stronger relationships with teens, parents, and older relatives. Therefore, teens over the age of 13 should be able to view R rated movies.
Thank you for taking time to read my opinion on teenagers watching “R” rated movies.
